I am really glad right now that I have this site set up on github so I can claim a commit with a quick post instead of coding. I have been going non-stop for the past 12 hours and, other than dinner and a quick phone call with my dad earlier, I have not sat down all day. I am too tired to try to do any coding now.

In my current project, I am working to predict critical restaurant violations. This was started under the assumption that the data was available. During my expoloratory phase, I discovered the data I was relying on had stopped updating. In order to proceed with the data set I wanted, I needed to do some scraping.
The ACLU announced today they will be challenging the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act on the basis that the CFAA makes conducting online audit testing to uncover racial discrimination illegal. Audit testing is a common practice for uncovering discrimination offline.
I am currently working on a Capstone project at General Assembly. Under the guidance of Carey Anne Nadeau from Open Data Nation, I am working to replicate Chicago’s Food Inspection Forecasting open source project for Washington, DC. I am also doing this in Python instead of R.
